The fishermen of Hoi An

Your tour begins bright and early this morning, as your guide will pick you up from your accommodation at 8.30 to make the short journey to the local fishing village. As you walk around the town with your guide, you'll get a glimpse into the lives of the local fishermen and their families as they go about their daily routines of tending to the nets, maintaining the boats, and preparing the catch for sale. The next thing to do is to board a traditional fishing vessel and go down the Hoi An River into the South China Sea.

You'll hop in a basket boat and navigate through a swamp of water palms to a sleepy fishing town for a snack. Here, you can go on an adventure through the once turbulent waterways, now lined with coconut palms, and learn about the hardships faced by soldiers on both sides of the American-Vietnamese conflict. Then, you'll learn how to cast and toss a classic round net, hoping to catch some fish to prepare for lunch back on the boat. Get back to your accommodation in the early afternoon after lunch.
