Ban Ho Valley Trek

You'll start this new adventure by riding to the trailhead near Thank Kim. A short path leads downhill to the Thanh Phu suspension bridge on the scenic Muong Bo River.

The path takes you past picturesque rice paddy terraces, where you may take in breathtaking views of the valley below and spot free-roaming water buffalo, goats, or mountain pigs from the local Tay and Red Dao communities. After that, you'll eat at a local's home close to the Thanh Phu Bridge or on top of a hill overlooking the Ban Ho Valley.

Following lunch, you will go along the Muong Bo River to the Tay minority village of Ban Ho. If the time and weather are right, you can take a break and cool yourself in the water at the Lavie Waterfall.

Ban Ho spans both sides of the Muong Bo River in a vast, scenic valley. Upon arrival, you can see local life for a while before returning to Sapa.

There are no severe ascents or descents on this day of hiking. It takes about five hours to walk there and about two hours to drive there.
