Explore the infamous Bridge on the River Kwai

The Allies destroyed the Bridge on the River Kwai during World War II, but it has since been reconstructed as a tourist attraction. The local military cemetery is also on the itinerary. As a tiny section of the larger Death Railway to Myanmar, the Bridge was responsible for the deaths of an estimated 16,000. You'll ride a train over the River Kwai Bridge and the Tha Kilen Bridge to Tham Kra Sae station from here.

In the afternoon, you'll go to Hell Fire Pass, about 80 kilometers (50 miles) northwest of Kanchanaburi, but not before stopping for lunch at a local restaurant. With few tools, the inmates completed the largest mountain cuts through dirt and rock.

You can see to Myanmar and go down on a section of the famed railway. There is free time for you to go about it, so take advantage of it by walking down the abandoned rail line that formerly connected here to Myanmar and back to your accommodation.
