Horton Plains Walk

Horton Plains is an undulating plateau of over 2,000 meters (6,600 feet) with 3,160 hectares of grasslands mixed with woods. It was declared a national park in 1988. The eerily beautiful moorlands above Nuwara Eliya are at their most picturesque first thing in the morning.

Sturdy roads lead you up into the countryside's woods. Before you reach the broad uplands of Horton Plains, if you're fortunate, you could see Adam's Peak out to the right. Once you reach the entry gate, you may begin your stroll. The track is immaculate the whole way; after 45 minutes of walking through woods, you'll reach "Little World's End." After another 15 minutes, you'll reach the more significant drop of World's End. The scenery is breathtaking on sunny days.

From here, you have two options: go back the way you came or follow an exposed trail (no cover) across hillsides for a little while until you reach the ridge above Baker's Falls, where a trail drops you down at the waterfall's base. If you are an energetic walker and can handle the lengthier circle, the twenty-meter-high falls are well worth a visit.

Taking a different open way back to the entry gate takes around 45 minutes. If you walk to World's End and back, the complete walk is around 8 km. If you walk the entire circuit, it's about 9 km or 5.6 miles.
