Day 1: Arrival in Muscat & Private Beachfront Check-In
Land at Muscat International Airport (MCT) where your private chauffeur meets you for a transfer to The Chedi Muscat. Unwind on the 370-metre private beach or swim in the 103-metre Long Pool framed by palms and the Al Hajar Mountains.
Day 2: Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque, Mutrah Souq & Royal Opera House
Visit the monumental Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque in the morning, admiring the 21-tonne hand-loomed Persian carpet and Swarovski crystal chandelier. Walk along the Mutrah Corniche into the historic covered souq to smell burning royal Hojari frankincense. In the afternoon, tour the Royal Opera House Muscat and view Al Alam Palace framed by Portuguese sea forts.
Day 3: Inland to Nizwa: 17th-Century Fort & UNESCO Falaj Daris
Drive inland by private 4WD to Nizwa (90 minutes / 150 km), the ancient capital of the Ibadhi Imamate. Tour the monumental Nizwa Fort, famous for its 30-metre-high cylindrical gun tower. Day 4: Ascending Jebel Akhdar: The Green Mountain at 2,000m
Drive up steep mountain switchbacks through police checkpoints to the Saiq Plateau of Jebel Akhdar at 2,000 metres elevation. Check in at Anantara Al Jabal Al Akhdar Resort, set dramatically on the canyon edge at Diana’s Point. Enjoy crisp mountain air and panoramic sunset views across the 1,000-metre deep gorge.
Day 5: Ancient Cliff Villages, Pomegranate Terraces & Rosewater Distilleries
Hike with a native mountain guide along the Falaj water channels connecting the ancient cliff-hanging stone villages of Wadi Bani Habib and Al Ayn. Walk through terraced orchards of pomegranates, walnuts, and apricots, and visit historic clay ovens used for distilling pure mountain rosewater.
Day 6: Descent to Wahiba Sands: 4WD Dune Bashing & Luxury Desert Camp
Descend the mountains and travel south into the vast Wahiba Sands (Sharqiya Sands). Deflate tyres at the desert gate for an exhilarating private 4WD dune-bashing session across 100-metre amber sand ridges.
