Its most iconic feature is the sandstone pillars, which rise thousands of feet above the ground, creating an otherworldly landscape. Hiking trails wind through the park, offering stunning views of these towering rock formations.

Tip: The Avatar Hallelujah Mountain, one of the tallest sandstone pillars in the park, is a must-see for visitors. It’s often said to have inspired the floating mountains in the movie Avatar.

2. Visit Wulingyuan Scenic Area

Just northeast of Zhangjiajie city, Wulingyuan is the primary access point to the Zhangjiajie Scenic Area. This UNESCO-listed area is home to more than 3,000 sandstone spires, deep ravines, and lush greenery. It’s a haven for nature lovers, offering hiking, rock climbing, and wildlife watching.

3. Experience the Glass Bridge
