Luxury Tour of Central and Southern Vietnam
This superb, almost 2-week tour allows our guests to experience a different side of Vietnam; one of the most amazing countries in the world. This country has am amazing array of different things to see and do. There is of course, thesuperb colonial architecture of the cities, beautiful beaches, floating markets and much, much more. Over the course of 12 days, you will enjoy some of the most important destinations in Vietnam.
Itinerary
Day 1: Welcome to Ho Chi Minh City
Your wonderful Vietnamese vacation begins in Ho Chi Minh City, the former Saigon, the largest city in the country. Staying at one of the city’s 5-star hotels, you may choose to spend your first day relaxing in the glorious comfort of your hotel. Alternatively you may prefer to visit a few of the city’s superb museums or sample a bowl of Pho, the national dish. You can try this fresh tasting beef noodle soup at the Park Hyatt Hotel if you wish.
Day 2: Ho Chi Minh City
We will escort you on a full day walking tour of the city on your first full day in Vibrant Saigon. French colonial building blend effortlessly with ancient Chinese heritage, we will take in the city’s famous Chinatown, Cholon. You will also visit the city’s most famous market, Ben Thanh. Be sure to haggle for a bargain, but always remember to keep a smile on your face, it’s the Vietnamese way.
Day 3: Ho Chi Minh City - Mekong River
Today, we will drive out of the city and into the unique rural splendor of the Mekong Delta. The Capital, Can Tho, is situated on the Hau River and you will cruise along this busy waterway to Ben Tre. The night scene in Can Tho is quiet and reserved but with a beautiful ambience. You can relax at your hotel at the end of the day; My Way Travel recommends the Victoria Can Tho Resort, a perfect location on the river.
Day 4: Can Tho - My Tho - Ho Chi Minh City
Rising early in the morning we will take you to the Cai Rang Floating Market; a truly unique experience. This is the largest of the floating markets and is teeming with life. Hundreds of boats jostle for the best location as retailers hang a sample of their produce on a bamboo pole from the prow of their boats. Later in the day you will be transferred back to Saigon, via the town of My Tho.
Day 5: Flight to Hoi An
The day begins with a short flight to the coastal city of Danang, from where you will transfer to Hoi An. This pretty little town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site; the old town is a perfectly preserved example of an old trading port. With a history stretching back 2,000 years, the town shows strong Chinese, Japanese and French influences. The town is famous for its tailors’ shops and lantern making. Hotels in this area are excellent. The Nam Hai Resort on Danang’s famous China Beach is a perfect example.
Day 6: Hoi An Food Tour
We give the whole day over to the exploration of Hoi An. The town is a real jewel in Vietnam’s crown. With unique architecture, culture and cuisine, your days will stimulate the senses from dawn till dusk. We will include a food tour, so you can be sure not to miss out on the local delicacies. A gentle cruise along the Tho Bon River will be followed by a leisurely bicycle tour of the Old Town.
Day 7: Hoi An - Hue
Today we make the scenic journey from Hoi An, over the Hai Van Pass, to Hue. The pass is one of the most spectacular in the country. Once in Hue you will enjoy a pleasant cruise along the Perfume River in the company of a knowledgeable, local guide. We recommend that your overnight stay be at La Residence Hotel and Spa one of the best in town.
Day 8: Flight back Ho Chi Minh City
After enjoying your breakfast, we will transfer to the airport in Hue for your return flight to Ho Chi Minh City. After checking into your 5-star hotel, your time is your own to enjoy the sights. Maybe visit the Chinese Chua Quan Am Temple, the unique Cha Tam Cathedral in District 5 or the world famous Cu Chi tunnels.
Day 9: Flight to Con Dao Island
No Vietnamese vacation would really be complete with spending some time on one of the countries incredible beaches. This tour includes one of the best. We fly to the island of Con Dao and take you to Dat Doc Beach and the truly amazing Six Senses Con Dao Resort. The beach-front villas here will take your breath away. The pristine sand is but a few footsteps away.
Day 10: Con Dao Island
Con Dao was once home to an infamous prison camp, the TraiPhuHai Prison. Today it serves as a museum and you can see the harsh conditions in which prisoners were kept. The afternoon’s destination is the more languid national park, where you will be able to see macaques, squirrels and other interesting local wildlife, including many indigenous birds. As evening falls it’s back to the luxurious Six Senses for dinner and a restful evening.
Days 11 & 12: Con Dao Free & Leisure
The last two days of this magnificent tour are spent in the perfect beauty of your resort. Your time is free to relax on the beach, take part in water sports like kayaking, or to snorkel and dive to see rays, turtles and barracuda fish. Surely this is the perfect end to a truly memorable vacation.
