Northern Indochina – Laos to Vietnam
This packed 14-day tour of Laos and Vietnam starts in Luang Prabang, where you will have plenty of time to explore, its mysteries. Traveling east, you will visit the mysterious Plain of Jars and the Vieng Xai Caves; a“city” to 23,000 people during the 'Secret War'.
Until recent times the northeast of Laos was inaccessible to all but the most hardy of travellers. This was due to a combination of the country’s restrictive immigration policy, poor infrastructure and lack of good quality accommodation. However, things are changing and whilst you should still expect certain issues at times, it's well worth the effort.
We cross the border into Vietnam at Na Maew, and journey onwards to the stunning Mai Chau Valley for trekking and outdoor activities. Finding time to visit the ancient village of Ky Son, we complete our journey in the cultural and artistic centre of Vietnam, Hanoi.
