Discover Brunei: Rainforest Adventures and Royal Heritage

Brunei, a small yet affluent nation in Southeast Asia, owes its prosperity to oil wealth, which has shaped a peaceful and refined way of life.

Occupying just 5,765 square kilometers, Brunei is divided into four districts, over 70% of which is cloaked in untouched rainforest. The climate is tropical-hot and humid year-round, with heavier rainfall from November to February. While alcohol isn’t sold locally, visitors may bring their own with the proper permits.

Kampong Ayer: The Water Village Heart of Brunei

In Bandar Seri Begawan, the capital, ornate mosques and the majestic Istana Nurul Iman-the Sultan’s official residence-reflect the nation’s grandeur. The Royal Regalia Museum offers a fascinating glimpse into royal traditions, while the Gadong area bustles with shops, restaurants, and modern amenities. Floating beside it all is Kampong Ayer, the world’s largest stilt village, where about 30,000 residents live above the water in a vibrant community.

Temburong: Brunei’s Rainforest Escape

The Temburong District is Brunei’s green jewel, separated from the mainland by Brunei Bay and reachable via high-speed boats. This unspoiled jungle paradise invites explorers to trek along steep forest trails, walk through the canopy for sweeping treetop views, and relax at waterfalls and natural pools-an immersive experience in one of Southeast Asia’s most pristine rainforests.
