Early Morning Visit to Cai Rang Floating Market from Victoria Hotel
Start your day early with a memorable journey to one of the Mekong Delta’s most iconic attractions: the Cai Rang Floating Market. At around 6:15 a.m., you’ll depart from the Victoria Hotel’s traditional-style junk and cruise along the Mekong River just in time to catch the market at its most vibrant.
Each morning, hundreds of boats gather at Cai Rang, their decks piled high with tropical fruits, vegetables, and local goods. Sellers advertise their wares by hanging samples from tall poles, while buyers maneuver small boats between the floating stalls. The river hums with life and color bargaining, laughing, and the smell of ripe mangoes and fresh pineapples in the air.
To get closer to the action, you’ll transfer to a smaller wooden boat that can weave through the narrow spaces between trading vessels. This immersive experience lets you interact directly with vendors, snap photos up close, and even purchase snacks or souvenirs right from the water.
After your market adventure, the tour continues through quieter canals off the main river. Here, life slows down. You may visit a family-run noodle workshop, tucked away behind coconut trees, to see how rice noodles are made using traditional techniques.
Around 10:00 a.m., you’ll return by boat to Can Tho’s main pier, ending a unique, intimate glimpse into Mekong Delta life that few get to experience.
