Getting to know Khao Lak

Situated on the west coast of the country by the Andaman Sea, is the popular resort town of Khao Lak. With a beautiful sandy beach, and an awe-inspiring coastline consisting of tropical rainforests, Khao Lak is perfect for relaxation and recuperation. Although much of the town was lost due to the tsunami of 2004, the town has reemerged once again thanks to the perseverance of the local people. The town is famous for its water-based activities including diving and snorkeling due to the abundance of marine life in the warm, crystal-clear waters nearby.

Khao Lak can also be an excellent connecting point to many other popular attractions in the region, including Phang Nga Bay, Khao Lak National Park, and the exotic Similan Islands which can all be reached using a local boat operator.
