This magical tour will take you to one of Thailand’s last known secrets, the northeastern region of Isaan. Whilst most tourists will opt for coastal resorts or one of the many spectacular islands, few will venture to this region which is traditionally one of the least accessible. However, Isaan is home to a rich array of cultural attractions and beautiful landscapes and this itinerary will ensure that you sample some of the region’s best locations. Highlights will include a visit to several of the most prominent Khmer temples, as well as an opportunity to try the spectacular cuisines that are particular to the local people that live in this unique part of Thailand.
We will also visit the spectacular ruins of Phanom Rung, which dates back more than 700 years and is one of Thailand’s most incredible attractions that few tourists choose to explore. Indeed, the entire region of Isaan is one of dense tropical rainforests and mountainous landscapes and you will be inspired be the sheer beauty of the vistas it offers. Due to the relatively low tourist numbers, we will also discover local villages that have remained highly authentic and we will observe their craftsmanship and traditions, and encounter their friendliness in equal measure.
