Myanmar: Weather & when to go: January
Myanmar’s dry season continues throughout the month of January, which is typically considered to be the peak season for tourist arrivals as temperatures slowly rise and conditions throughout the country become more comfortable.
Beaches located in the country’s western and southern coastal regions receive excellent amounts of sun in January. Myanmar’s central plains region will also remain dry and hot during the same period and these conditions are considered to be much more comfortable than in the months that follow. Whilst conditions are typically moderate around Inle Lake and in the foothills of Shan State, temperatures can become cooler in the evenings so it is advisable to pack warm clothing.
At this time of year, rainfall is considered unlikely and temperatures in the lowlands typically reach the high 20s (°C), although evenings can once again be a little cooler.
